Apply For The Permanent Atlantic Immigration Program

Golden opportunity for workers & better economic growth

Over the last few years, the Atlantic Immigration Pilot has taken and secured thousands of newcomers to the province.

These newcomers have supported communities to thrive, companies to grow and the regional population expansion.

Due to this successful pilot program, the Minister of Immigration Sean Fraser announced the launch of the Atlantic Immigration Program.

The new permanent program will officially be available on January 1, 2022. The plan will support the Atlantic provinces inviting skilled newcomers. To boost up their economic and demographic situation.

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot has presently got over 10,000 new permanent residents to Atlantic Canada.

This will contribute to employers 9,800 job opportunities in main sectors, encompassing health care, housings, foodservice and manufacturing. Most considerably, over 90% of candidates were still residing in the region after 1 year, a much higher retention ratio than other schemes.

The magic behind it is simple. The permanent scheme maintains the 3 headlines that brought the pilot such a success:

  • The emphasis on employers, improved settlement aid and a combined approach across all Atlantic regions.
  • IRCC and the Atlantic regions worked together to develop the permanent program.
  • The modifications comprise clarifying roles between collaborators, improving employer assistance through activity and enhancing program requirements to confirm newcomers can successfully establish themselves in the province.

IRCC is working closely with employers and provincial governments to assure continuous growth between the pilot and the permanent program.

Applicants can start submitting applications for permanent residence under the new program on March 6, 2022.
